American Resort Development Association

The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) is the Washington D.C.-based trade association for the timeshare industry. ARDA’S membership comprises over 500 companies (both privately held firms and publicly traded corporations), which house 5,000-plus individual ARDA members. ARDA’s active, engaged members have extensive experience in shared ownership interests in leisure real estate. The membership also includes timeshare owner associations (HOA’s), resort management companies, vacation clubs, industry vendors, suppliers, regulatory experts, and consultants; as well as owners through the ARDA Resort Owners Coalition (ARDA-ROC). In addition to the 1,540 resorts located in the United States, many ARDA members have resorts around the world — including the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, and Asia. ARDA is part of the international timeshare community through the Global Alliance for Timeshare Excellence (GATE), made up of member organizations from Brazil, Asia Pacific, Australia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, and South Africa.

Canadian Resort & Travel Association

Canadian Resort & Travel Association (CRTA)
CRTA is Canada’s only association dedicated to representing the interests of the vacation ownership based and resort development industries, both at home and abroad. Since its founding in 1980 (originally as CRDA), the organization has become the preeminent industry association representing all forms of vacation ownership in Canada. CRTA membership is a community of active industry leaders committed to promoting and maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct within the Canadian vacation ownership industry, creating B-2-B opportunities, networking, and problem-solving among its members, while educating consumers on the benefits of vacation ownership. The association is governed by an elected Board of Governors. SPI Software’s CEO Gordon McClendon was named to the CRTA Board of Directors in the fall of 2022.

Mexican Association of Tourism Developers

The Mexican Association of Tourism Developers (AMDETUR), is an organization in the tourism sector that acts as a link between various federal, state and municipal authorities with the private initiative of the Timeshare and Vacation Ownership segment. AMDETUR represents the defense of the common interests of its affiliates, through the promotion of capital investment to promote the growth of tourism in Mexico. The association constitutes a consultative body for government authorities, collaborates with the public and business sectors to promote training programs, and establish communication channels with the purpose of unifying and harmonizing criteria for the participation of the private sector. Founded in 1987, brings together 90% of developers and investors in the Timeshare and Vacation Ownership sector in Mexico, including: Exchange Companies, Investors, Marketers, Operators, Real Estate, Law Firms and Consulting Firms. SPI Software serves many members of this association.

Timeshare Board Members Association

The Timeshare Board Members Association has served the Legacy Timeshare Resort Community since 2011. Since its inception, TBMA has focused on its purpose of providing education through a dynamic, continually evolving agenda. The Association seeks the active participation by HOA Board Members, onsite Resort Managers, and industry experts to help TBMA in carrying out its mission and in serving its Membership. Through in-person educational, highly interactive conferences, and informative TBMA Webinar Conversations Series, addresses key issues, challenges and opportunities for effective Board Governance and On-Site Management. The association is funded entirely by the financial support of its sponsors. Because of that support, Board Members and On-Site Resort Managers can join TBMA without charge.

Resort Trades

Resort Trades – the timeshare industry’s only true news journal – has been delivering industry news to timeshare resort operators, managers, and developers since 1987 by sending complimentary copies to about 25,000 subscribers at every resort, every month in the United States and Canada. A true leader in the vacation ownership/timeshare industry and its bellwether of trends, issues, and the transition of industry professionals the journal is a super-tabloid that is supported by an active online news resource. Global Networking EXperience

Founded in 2011, the Global Networking EXperience (GNEX conference) offers a series of networking conferences each year for senior-level executives from within the hospitality industry. Resort Development Organisation

RDO (Resort Development Organisation) is the trade association for vacation ownership across Europe, encompassing multiple usage types including timeshare, fractional interests, private residence clubs, condo hotels, and destination clubs, all aimed at providing vacationers with quality holiday accommodations through various use concepts.
RDO members represent the best in European vacation ownership and are committed to high service standards and integrity. They are bound by a code of conduct and an independent arbitration scheme, providing levels of protection beyond those required by law.

Vacation Ownership Association of South Africa

The Vacation Ownership Association of South Africa (VOASA) is the non-profit, self-regulatory trade association for the timeshare vacation ownership industry in South Africa. Established in 1990, it is a member-driven association which brings together developers, exchange organisations, holiday clubs, body corporates / share blocks, managing agents, sales and rental agents and industry vendors as one collective voice. Fundamental to its existence is the development and growth of a sustainable industry and the advancement of consumer rights. This is achieved by proactively engaging with government legislators and consumers, and through a members’ Code of Conduct which promotes ethical behaviour to uphold the reputation and credibility of the industry. VOASA is also a member of the Global Alliance for Timeshare Excellence (GATE) which comprises industry associations from the United States, Brazil, Asia Pacific, Australia, Canada, Europe and Mexico.
